1. About color

The more intense the color, the better; the more saturated the color, the better; the more uniform the color, the better. Under the same color, the higher the saturation and uniformity, the more expensive. In different colors, the more popular the market, the more expensive the variety. The value, from left to right, is blue, green, red, orange, yellow, white, brown, and black.

2. About weight

3. About clarity

The flaws of gems are divided into five levels. IF: Completely flawless; VVS: Visible under a ten-fold magnifying glass; VS: Defects difficult to detect with the naked eye; SI: Visible with the naked eye; I: Easy to check. The culprit that causes gem defects is inclusions. Inclusions are also called inclusions, such as water vapor, bubbles, liquids, solids, cracks, and faceted ridge wear marks. Among them, cracks have the greatest impact on the value of gems. Therefore, when buying gemstones, using a magnifying glass to observe whether there are too many inclusions on the surface and inside of the gemstone is a behavior that must be taken when identifying the value of the gemstone.

4. About the cut

There are two types of cuts: regular cuts and special cuts. Regardless of whether it is a regular cut or a special cut, the easiest way to determine the quality of the cut is to observe the gems' fire. Rotate the gem and observe it and find that there is a small flame-like brilliance inside the gem.

5. About the place of origin

The place of origin cannot prove the value of gems, but the gems produced in some famous mining areas are born with a protagonist halo and are popular everywhere, such as the emeralds in the Columbia-Muzou mining area. This kind of thinking may be related to people's inertial thinking.

6. About the certificate

Any gem or jade can be used as a certificate, but there are differences in fees for certificates of different levels. Internationally well-known certificates include GIA, GRS, EGL, GIS, etc.
